We have recieved information that the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Ingushetia sent the instruction in educational institutions of republic to conduct on February 23rd, 2010 the solemn actions connected with commemorating of Day of the defender of fatherland.
We highly appreciate and we pay a tribute of respect to valorous defenders of independence, honour and worthiness of our Great Native land. Thus for moral reasons we consider inadmissible commemorating in Republic of Ingushetia of Day of the defender of fatherland on February 23rd, as this day, in 1944, the Ingush and Chechen people have been subjected by a criminal Stalin regime to a bloody genocide. Not dividing people on age and a floor, social and other status, all Ingushs and Chechens declared enemies of the Soviet people, put them on the spot to the cold steppes of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. For 13 years of the banishment, more than 40 % of representatives of both people for ever remained to lay in the earth of Kazakhstan and Central Asia or became invalids. There is no Ingush and the Chechen, whose family would not suffer those tragical years. Heavy consequences of deportation of our people are not liquidated till now.
Attempt of officials to celebrate on February 23rd, 2010 of Day of the defender of fatherland we regard as attempt to force our children to bury in oblivion memory of our ancestors which have innocently suffered those tragical years.
For each Ingush and the Chechen any commemorating in day of a national tragedy is the reviling of memory of ancestors, victims and victims in days of Stalin deportation.
Expressing the deep outrage provoked by intention of the authorities to held celebratory actions in day of tragedy of the Ingush and Chechen people, we, representatives of non-governmental organisations of Republic Ingushetia and public figures demand from a republic management:
1. To abrogate any celebratory actions in day of tragedy of the Ingush and Chechen people.
2 solemn presentation to "warriors-Afghans" of keys from habitation.
3. . To carry over solemn commissioning of new settlement of Malgobek town.
4. To held on February 23rd, in all cities and Republic Ingushetia villages the mourning actions connected with the anniversary of deportation of the Ingush and Chechen people.
5. To carry over the commemorating of Day of the defender of fatherland.
